Company Background and Culture

Founded in 2009, Advanced Technologies International (“ATI”) has pioneered and perfected the art of collaboration management in technology development for the US Federal government. Structured as a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, ATI’s core mission is to help government improve the effectiveness of technology development by building industry and academic consortia to deliver advanced technology to US Government agencies faster and more efficiently.
Over the last 20 plus years, ATI has grown from its first consortium management engagement with the US Navy into a firm managing 19 broad consortia engaged across the US Federal Government technology development enterprise.
ATI has delivered significant growth over the last 3 years (~+30% CAGR 2017-2019). However, ATI finds itself at an inflection point in its growth given that:

  • ATI’s activity remains heavily concentrated in consortia supporting technology development for the US Department of Defense

  • Growth has been driven from within the existing portfolio of relationships

  • ATI’s success has attracted new market entrants with competing consortium management solutions

Given ATI’s non-profit structure, we manage several different mission-oriented objectives—one of which is growth. Growth is consistent with ATI’s mission in that it is focused on serving the nation by bringing the efficiency and speed advantages of ATI’s consortium approach to the largest relevant footprint within the US government. In addition, the growth imperative serves the core mission in that it assures the financial resources to sustain the mission over the long term.
The Chief Growth Officer (“CGO”) will be expected to play a key role in helping ATI and its executive team manage through this inflection point in growth.

Culture:

ATI’s culture is best understood by considering its stated core values:
“Our core belief is in service; to our country, to our customers, and to the solutions derived from our efforts.

  • Integrity in everything we do

  • Passion for the work

  • Teamwork is the hallmark of our efforts

  • Relentless pursuit of Excellence

  • Agility to meet the rapidly changing demands of our clients and partners”

As a key leader in the organization, the CGO will be expected to embrace these core values and model them in how they interact with the organization. While this position is focused on delivering specific outcomes in terms of growth, these growth efforts need to be achieved in a way consistent with ATI’s core values around service to the nation and teamwork in execution.
ATI’s activities are managed today by a 5-person executive team representing the key functions within the organization and including the CEO. The executive team operates in a collegial manner based on consensus. To be successful, the CGO will need to develop strong relationships with his/her peers on the executive team and establish trust and credibility with the CEO.
