Digital Security Engineer @ Red Bull North America - Santa Monica, CA

The role of the IT Security Engineer at Red Bull is to work with the IT Infrastructure teams, Software Engineering, and service owners to coordinate the security of our IT landscape. You will also help improve the Incident Response capabilities and initiate and support projects improving cross-functional security capabilities for the organization.

• 
  INVESTIGATION & INCIDENT RESPONSE
  
  Work with internal and external colleagues, technologies (logging, SIEM, Threat Intelligence Platform) and partners to identify security issues and ensure swift reactions considering an incident. Thereby contributing to driving continuous improvements for our Incident response processes.
  
  Conduct Root Cause Analysis, collaborate with teams and build appropriate documentation for Security Incidents.
  
  Conduct phishing campaigns and lead technical and organizational activities to improve results of future iterations.
  
  Coordinate with service owners to fix vulnerabilities.
• 
  IT INFRASTRUCTURE AND APPLICATON SECURITY
  
  
  
  Work with the relevant IT service owners to identify gaps and improve security vulnerabilities, thereby improve the security posture.
  
  Monitor SIEM logs and trigger appropriate actions.
• 
  CONTRIBUTE TO SECURITY ARCHITECTURE
  
  
  
  Oversee the components of the architecture and support in identification of improvements.
  
  Work with Service Owners of IT infrastructure (endpoint, network, identity and access, physical security) to improve security measures and coordinate topics.
  
  Help in Identifying and mitigating security vulnerabilities within each department.
  
  Plan and conduct penetration testing using different scenarios.
  
  Identify new tools and industry best practices when needed.
• 
  CAPABILITY BUILDING
  
  Work with both the local and global Digital Security teams to improve Security measures and capabilities within our US IT processes, subject matter experts and service owners.
  
  Support the local team and our colleagues at our global HQ in Europe in performing ongoing security testing to improve infrastructure, software and service security.

EXPERIENCE

Your areas of knowledge and expertise

that matter most for this role:

• 5+ years work experience as a Security Engineer or related position in IT Security
• Experience developing, operating, and maintaining security systems
• Knowledge of operating system, infrastructure, and database security
• Proficiency in networking technologies, network security and network monitoring solutions.
• Knowledge of security systems including cloud security, endpoint security, anti-virus applications, content filtering, firewalls, authentication systems and intrusion detection and notification systems
• Software development experience in any of the core languages: ex: JavaScript / nodejs /python
• In-depth knowledge of security protocols and principles
• Detailed technical knowledge of techniques for identifying security vulnerabilities and remediation

• Bachelor's degree preferred or experience in lieu of degree
• English, additional languages an advantage
