Come join Intuit’s Consumer Group (CG) team responsible for delivering a $3.5B business for Intuit. You will join as a Full Stack Staff Software Engineer on the Tax Platform product development team in CG. The engineering organization owns the foundational income tax capabilities that power multiple Intuit product offerings and experiences, including TurboTax Online, TurboTax Live, Business Tax, and Credit Karma Money. You will drive the architecture, technical design, and enablement of TurboTax experiences for Credit Karma users. You will play an important role in shaping the seamless tax experience between Intuit and partners by helping to develop strategy, creating patterns and capabilities with a platform mindset and passion for engineering and operations excellence.

As a tech lead, you will closely collaborate with the cross-functional engineering and platform service teams to bring amazing Intuit product offerings to millions of customers worldwide.

What you'll bring

10+ years of experience architecting, designing, and developing scalable web, software, or mobile applications
Strong technical leadership experience: Has operated as a tech lead for scrum teams, decomposing initiatives into technical epics, go-to technical person, cross-functional collaboration, and a drivers mindset is a must
BS/MS in computer science or equivalent work experience
5-7 years of full-time, hands-on experience creating web/mobile applications
Expertise in Object Oriented Languages (OOD): Java/J2EE or similar
Expertise with the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
3+ years’ experience in developing RESTful or GraphQL-based web services with Java, Spring, SpringBoot, and SQL/No-SQL databases
2-3+ experience in several frontend programming languages, including JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3
Working experience with various frameworks and libraries such as AngularJS, React JS, NextJS, Vue, etc
Experience with the latest industry build and bundling tools like webpack, rollup, babel, etc
Ability to handle the breadth of multiple domains/dependencies and passion for driving the integration for complex dependency areas such as web shell, identity, security, legal, fraud, commerce is highly desired
Experience with monitoring tools (Splunk, Wavefront) and a strong operation excellence mindset
Excellent communication skills: Demonstrated ability to explain complex issues to technical and non-technical audiences. Highly comfortable with presenting to peer engineers and engineering leaders
Expertise with unit testing & Test-Driven Development TDD with automating unit integration, performance, and end-to-end tests

How you will lead

Designing and developing web and mobile applications, as well as creating prototypes and proofs of concepts
Leading the gathering of functional, security, and compliance requirements, developing technical specifications, and project & test planning.
Acting as the technical subject matter expert with an end-to-end mindset: Mentoring fellow engineers, demonstrating technical expertise, and leading a small team solving challenging programming and design problems
Roughly 50-60% hands-on coding and peer mentoring on standards and best practices.
Work cross-functionally with various Intuit teams, including product management, architects, QA/QE, designers, Program Managers, Security, Legal, and Compliance leads for ISO 270001 ,Section 7216, and Intuit Data Management.
Generate technical documentation and presentations to communicate architectural and design options and current and future states with clear driving factors for the decisions and educate development teams and business users.
Resolve defects/bugs during QA testing, pre-production, production, and post-release patches.
Demonstrate a passion for developing well-architected services and experiences that are 100% available, rapidly scalable at high throughput, and always ON
Experience with Agile Development, SCRUM, or Extreme Programming methodologies
Strong relationship building to partner, collaborate and influence
