The Storm-1 program is one of the largest contract awards in recently history for the Space Sector. With a 100+ engineering staff it has the exciting and fast paced challenge to produce ground control software and supporting factory needs nearly from the ground up. The program is recruiting a talented candidate to join its software team to help make the program a reality. The candidate will work with a team of software senior staff members on the forefront of the program’s technical solutions. The candidate will be tasked with solving complex problems and supporting other teams both inside and outside of the program. The team maintains the coherence of other teams supporting a common framework, development of tools sets, and support of the whole development lifecycle. This position provides career opportunities for an individual to receive wide exposure to all aspects of the program and oversight of the entire technical stack and solutions.

Core Responsibilities:

Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree with 9 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 7 years of relevant experience; 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
• Proficiency in one or more of the following: Java, C/C++, Python
• Active DoD Top Secret Clearance, and the ability to obtain SCI

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM
• Experience with Satellite Ground systems
• Experience in software development deliverables and processes
