Summary of Role:
Reporting to and under the guidance of the IT Director, the Cyber Security
Engineer is responsible for ensuring the security of our servers, workstations, networks, web applications, cloud applications, IT processes, and regulatory compliance. This position is pivotal in identifying vulnerabilities, implementing robust security measures, and maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of our
information systems and assets. This position may require availability for "On Call", weekends, evenings, and holidays, as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Cyber Security
Engineer or similar role, with a strong understanding of security principles, practices, and technologies.
2. Bachelor's degree in
Computer Science,
Information Security, or a related field.
3. Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH are highly desirable.
4. In-depth knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, and common security vulnerabilities, as well as familiarity with security tools and software.
5. Proficiency in conducting risk assessments, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing.
6. Experience with security incident response, including analysis, containment, eradication, and recovery.
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address security issues effectively.
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels and effectively convey complex security concepts to non-technical individuals.
9. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
