Position Summary/Position
The role of a
Quality Assurance Engineer II at IEHP is to coordinate the process for analyzing software programs which involves creating and implementing testing, recording the test results, and providing recommendations to improve software programs based on the test results. In order to accomplish
QA duties required across IT at IEHP,
QA II must have ability to work independently. Supporting testing efforts within an
agile team and execute all levels of testing (System, API testing, Data validation, Integration, and Regression). Evaluating organization's technical infrastructure for security issues. Responsible for interfacing with end users to understand requirements (
Business Analysis) and in some cases ascertain areas of improvement, such as cost reduction solutions and automation solutions. Perform ETL tests which requires strong PL/
SQL Skills and Data warehousing Knowledge. Major Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)
1. Develops functional and detailed system requirements, sometimes independently, to ensure comprehensive and complete testing of applications.
2. Develops test cases, test scenarios, and test criteria to effectively test configured software and custom-developed IT applications.
3. Coordinates with
Business users to develop function application requirements and detailed system requirements.
4. Performs functional ‘black box’ testing of IT applications to identify issues and defect.
5. Performs Integration and
backend testing using
SQL.
6. Works directly with project teams to effectively communicate and prioritize known issues and defects.
7. Maintains libraries of application requirements, specifications, test cases, defect logs, and test results.
8. Performs regression testing on existing applications.
9. Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) with
business partners, ensuring that proper UAT is performed.
10. Collaborates with IEHP System Security Administrator to ensure that security standards are followed, and that PHI data is not at risk of being compromised.
11. Develops functional and detailed system requirements, sometimes independently, to ensure comprehensive and complete testing of applications.
12. Develops and runs automated test scripts and evaluates results.
13. Develop and maintain user instructions, operational instructions, process documentation, and program documentation according to IT group standards.
14. Develop
SQL reports as needed to investigate data-related issues.
15. Performs root-cause analysis on issues and defects and works towards developing solutions.
16. Performs or facilitates application 'stress testing'.
17. Works directly with external vendors and services providers to ensure quality deliverables. Major Functions (Duties and Responsibilities) Cont Supervisory Responsibilities Leading: Self Experience Qualifications
Three plus (3+) years IT
Quality Assurance experience. Experience with requirements development and documentation, and direct experience leading IT
QA efforts. Experience with data validation and ETL processes testing. Experience with API testing tools such as SOAPUI, Postman. API Testing Experience. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Prior development or automation experience using functional Automation tools like Selenium, UTP etc. API testing using Automation tools. Preferred Experience
Development Experience a plus. EDI Experience a Plus. Education Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required.
In lieu of the required degree, a minimum of four (4) years of additional relevant work experience is required for this position. This experience is in addition to the minimum years listed in the Experience Requirements above. Preferred Education
Bachelor's degree preferably with a major in Information
Technology, Mathematics,
Business Administration, or Healthcare from an accredited institution. Professional Certification Professional Licenses Drivers License Required No Knowledge Requirement
Must have Knowledge of healthcare industry -standard message EDI formats like HL7(ADT's, Orders, Charges), X12 (837/835, 270/271, 276/277), NCPDP, HIPPA etc. are required.Knowledge of IT SDLC Processes and
QA practices.
Knowledge
SQL Query Writing and Test automation tools a plus. Skills Requirement

Position is eligible for telecommuting/remote work location model upon completing the necessary steps and receiving HR approval. The incumbent approved to telecommute may periodically be required to report to IEHP’s main campus for mandatory in-person meetings or for other
business needs determined by IEHP leadership. A reasonable salary expectation is between $79,809.60 and $101,774.40, based upon experience and internal equity.
