Our Flight Controls Team is filled with passionate Engineers with diverse perspectives all working together as we
design and develop the integrated system of components and software that control the flight of the air vehicle.
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU
As a Flight Controls
Engineer on our team, you will work multiple aspects of control law development: model development, data analysis, autopilot simulation, avionics, control modes and support of hardware and software integration in a SIL.
Tasking will include hands on integration of control laws into vehicle
management computers and the coordination of work with the software integration team.
Under supervision, candidate will contribute to simulation development efforts and the development of subsystem simulation capabilities as needed to support SIL capability. Models will be primarily Simulink models and will be integrated with the 6DOF and other systems to create a large cohesive simulation capability. Responsibilities also include designing input/output interfaces to support
software development, integration and test, coordinating and development of high-level requirements, and flow down of requirements to SQT/IFAT/FMET.
This assignment involves independent tasking as part of a lean technical team - personal initiative, original and creative problem solving, and the ability to work independently and with little oversight are a must.

YOUR IMPACT
You will have the opportunity to help us shape the future of our site and positively impact the full spectrum of control law development. You will also be trusted with everything from data analysis and sensor and actuator performance, to, autopilot simulation, testing, and supporting HW and SW integration in SIL.
The applicant will need to pass a program access security background check.
***Must be a US Citizen, position is located at a facility that requires special access. Must possess Secret Security Clearance with an investigation within the last 5 years.***
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Software, Aeronautical or Aerospace
Engineering, or other related
engineering technical degree
Experience with Modeling & Simulation Systems
Experience programming with MATLAB (Simulink)
Experience in control law development and support
Desired Skills:
Flight simulation experience
Hands-on experience with system build, system integration, and test
Experience with VMS development lifecycle: architecture, requirements,
design, development, integration, testing, and flight test
Experience programming in C/C++ and embedded software
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Good written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a
government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret with an investigation within 6 years

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California or New York City is $81,000 - $152,600. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and
business considerations when extending an offer.
