Night Club Manager

Job Summary: The Manager is responsible for ensuring appropriate standards of service, organization, and management of daily operations are maintained. Every aspect of the operation and growth of the nightclub. Ensures outstanding guest service is provided to guests at all times and handles all elevated complaints or concerns. Proficient in bartending and bar management. The Manager must be capable to hire and train new staff ie; bartenders, barbacks, and security entertainment. Administering nightly banks for the bartenders shifts. Creating and offering motivating awards for employees to upsell products or recognizing positive work behavior. Implementing procedures and processes for staff. Working with brands to create craft cocktails. Ordering and tracking inventory and tracking inventory loss. Providing a safe and fair workplace for all employees. Available to assist the owner with public meetings from time to time.
Required Experience:
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Excellent knowledge of serving techniques and standard cocktails with the ability to teach/train staff
  • Excellent knowledge of wine, liquor, and common drink recipes
  • Excellent knowledge of mixing, garnishing and serving drinks
  • Knowledge of security guard laws
  • Bartender: 5+ years (Preferred)
  • Wholesaler account
  • Bar Manager: 5+ years of management experience in casual dining, nightclub/bar, high-volume food and/or beverage outlet
  • Ability to sell cocktails and train/teach staff how to sell
Essential Job Functions:
  • Maintain positive guest interactions
  • Hires, trains, schedules, develops, and disciplines both management and staff to ensure established standards are maintained
  • Oversees standards of service and ensures they are properly maintained. Handles accordingly when standards are not met
  • Comply with all health, safety and hygiene standards/policies
  • Ensure team is maintaining cleanliness in all areas of the bar
  • Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
  • Manage security guards and possess working knowledge of security laws
  • Implement daily cleaning procedures for staff
Financial
  • Set annual team goals and assist in annual budget preparation.
  • Prepare and analyze budget reports
  • Oversee monthly P&L (profit & loss), daily numbers to maximize revenue, manage controllable costs, and expenses with a strong emphasis on all cost of goods (“COGS”) and Labor.
  • Approve invoices for account payables
  • Manage petty cash
  • Create and maintain systems to track staff performance related to customer service and revenue maximization
Marketing
  • Familiar with club promoting. Will be interested in knowing how you promote. Be prepared to discuss in great detail.
  • Find creative low-cost ways to market the venue
  • Create and implement Staff Outreach Program
  • Create and implement Loyalty Programs
  • Help with themes for holidays and special events
  • Ensure brand is being properly represented at all times
Operation
  • Oversee the Manager Action Items List to ensure tasks are completed
  • Oversee nightly closing
  • Create and implement specific policies and procedures that will enhance customer service
  • Ensure private parties and sites are executed properly
  • Review all staff clock in/out times
  • Review all incident reports
  • Manage floor as scheduled
  • Ensure proper time is effectively split between all departments
  • Hold weekly manager meetings and ensure proper follow-up on all action items
Education: High School Diploma or GED required
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Possess strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Possess basic math skills, have the ability to handle money, and operate a cash register/POS system
  • Handle a fast-paced work environment
  • Outstanding guest services skills
  • Be able to communicate clearly and effectively (verbal & written)
  • Professional presentation and positive attitude
