Full Stack Java Developer @ Claims Solutions - Jersey City, NJ

We are looking for a full stack software engineer to work as part of our anti-fraud team. Verisk is the industry leader in providing the insurance industry with data, analytics and alerts to help combat fraud and keep all of our premiums in check. You will work on the ClaimSearch product. It's the world’s largest database of property/casualty claims and a robust claims intelligence platform. Its claims-matching technology is an essential first step in fraud detection, and the results can help facilitate fast-tracking. The platform also provides seamless access to integrated claims fraud-detection and investigative analysis tools.

You will be responsible for designing and developing new components of the ClaimSearch product as well as enhancing existing features. You will develop for our fully cloud environment across very large data sets and gain experience on a diverse set of technology tools with exposure to backend data processing, large entity resolution algorithms, data matching, search, APIs, integrations and front-end development. Our headquarters are in Jersey City, New Jersey and candidates are welcome to work in office if desired, but the anti-fraud team is a hybrid team with fully remote employees spread across several states and even other countries.

About the Day to Day Responsibilities of the Role:

• 
  Fluent in Java, SQL, XML, JSON
• Experience working with Spring, Hibernate and Message Queues
• Experience working in JavaScript frameworks such as Ember.js or AngularJS
• Experience with AWS, Docker, Elasticsearch a plus
• Understanding and exposure to creating and consuming RESTful services
• Working knowledge of software development tools
• Knowledge of testing methodologies and Agile processes
• Familiarity with continuous integration concepts and processes
• Strong teamwork and problem-solving skills
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small-group situations
• Experience leading small technical teams
• Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to continuously changing technology
• Effectively translated complex customer requirements and recommended system solutions
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audience
• Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related field) from four-year college or university with minimum 3.0 GPA
• 2-4 years of experience or similar ability in software development
