Some roles can work virtual full-time if they are not near a Tech Hub, but that is dependent upon the needs of the position and amount of collaboration required.


Job Summary

Responsible for planning and designing new software and web applications. Analyzes, tests and assists with the integration of new applications. Documents all development activity. Assists with training non-technical personnel. Has in-depth experience, knowledge and skills in own discipline. Usually determines own work priorities. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.

The Comcast Network and CONNECTivity (CONNECT) organization is a highly agile, fast-paced, dedicated group at the forefront of change focused on innovating, building, and operating the best in class, most reliable access network for our customers.

About the Team

The role for this position is a front-end React developer on the Smart Network Platform (SNP) UI team. The SNP UI Team is a software development team of 10, composed of software engineers, quality engineers, a technical manager, product owner and scrum master.

SNP is designed to manage thousands of network devices in the network of the largest internet service provider in the U.S. SNP utilizes many micro-services to configure, manage, visualize and monitor the network. The front-end developer's mission is to utilize these myriad services and present their functionality in a cohesive, logical user interface designed to modern architectural, interface design and usability standards.

Core Responsibilities

  • Work with the team to translate UX team wireframes guidance into Views in React
  • Help manage projects through the design, development and QA.
  • Be part of a team that SAFE Agile methodologies
  • Work on Node Js API layer
  • Oversees testing and develops fixes
  • Work on progressive redesign and maintenance projects that have an immediate impact on how our customers experience our brand every day
  • Develop new user-facing features
  • Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability
  • Assure that all user input is validated before submitting to back-end
  • Participate in code review
  • Identifying blockers and applying creative solutions within company guidelines
  • Staying on top of current trends in web development

Skills

  • May require a bachelor's degree in a related area and 5 to 8 years’ experience in the field or in a related area
  • 2 or more years of experience in React and Node js
  • Good understanding of Front-End systems and RESTful architectures
  • Experience with Webpack, TypeScript
  • Experience with containerization and Jenkins
  • Linux / Unix / MacOS experience
  • JIRA or similar
  • Git or similar

Bachelor's Degree

Salary:

Pay Range: $105,260.37 - $157,890.56

Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience.
