User Experience Design Lead @ JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A. - Brooklyn, NY

We are looking for a Senior User Experience Design Lead to join our growing Digital Customer Experience team, where you will be working alongside our Managing Directors, the Sr. Product Design Lead, leads large and impactful initiatives within Small Business, utilizing a facilitative leadership style with senior design, research, product, and engineering leaders. A Senior Experience Design Lead, you are comfortable and capable of leading multi-disciplinary teams across the full range of design practice, from up-front research, insights, and strategy, though to ideation, prototyping, and testing, and to delivery of final designs. Leveraging your partnerships with Product Management and Engineering Leads, you will help develop the product and business strategy to inform the prioritization, planning, and decisions across multiple product teams

Job Responsibilities

• Advocate for the users' perspective when collaborating with Product Managers and Engineers to plan roadmaps, gather requirements, and structure the work
• Encourage creation of new product and business strategy at the intersection of user needs and business goals
• Lead multiple, parallel teams in the design and re-design of end-to-end experiences across our small business offerings
• Oversee upfront user research to better understand user needs and behaviors, and usability testing to see how your solutions work for users, in collaboration with Experience Researchers
• Communicate expectations within the design team for standards of quality through creative direction and critique
• Contributes to the creation of visions ("north stars") that make strategy concrete
• Create strategic design deliverables such as strategy decks, customer journeys, visions of future experiences and evangelize these cross-product "blueprints" across teams
• Diagram overarching structure of omnichannel experience
• Lead design team in delivering end-to-end experience
• Advocate for Accessibility and Inclusive Design practices
• Prepare design team members for presenting their work to others
• Support recruiting processes, reaching out to potential candidates, conducting technical assessment of candidates' design craft capabilities
• Advance Chase's practice in craft capabilities, internally through mentorship and training, externally through writing and conference presentations

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

• Degree in relevant design discipline (e.g., Interaction Design, HCI, User Experience Design), certification from credible bootcamp or similar accelerated learning program, or equivalent work experience
• Lead the delivery of successful shipped products
• Can direct self and others in both planning and structuring the work, and executing on expected levels of quality
• Experience leading a program of work through full product development cycles in discovery, concepting, prototypes, specifications, and enablement
• Significant experience with user-centered and human-centered design approaches
• Prior work involves leading design teams (with other designers, UX researchers, and content designers) and cross-functional collaboration with senior product managers and engineering leads
• Expertise in Interaction Design, and strength in Visual/UI Design or Information Architecture
• Intermediate proficiency in adjacent skills such as User Research, UX Writing, Prototyping, and Service Design
• Strong facilitation skills and experience employing a variety of methods and techniques to run complex design-led workshops
• Has directed new business thinking and strategy through their user-centered design work
• Able to show how their understanding of technical constraints and opportunities informed design solutions; familiar with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
