We are looking for a Cloud Engineer to join our Data Engineering, Science, and Analytics team. As a cloud engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, deploying, monitoring, and evolving tools, services, frameworks and modules that enable data engineers, data scientists, machine learning engineers to build and operate data-related applications that enable data consumption across all Fanatics Collectibles users. Our team has ample opportunities to apply our engineering and data science skill sets to unlock vast business opportunities by extracting key insights using a wide range of data sources, advanced statistical models, and machine learning algorithms and translating results into meaningful goal-oriented business actions. Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, deploy, monitor, maintain, and evolve cloud-native tools, services, reusable modules and frameworks to automate provisioning of automated cloud infrastructure that empowers data engineers/scientists to build and operate data-related applications to deliver data consumption across all Fanatics Collectibles users.
  • Provide the Data Engineering, Science, and Analytics teams with standards and best practices on how to deploy and consume cloud-based services.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to improve operational efficiency of teams and usage of cloud services.
  • Proactively research emerging cloud-native technologies, evaluate their suitability in our existing tech stack, and incorporate them when business needs warrant.
  • Contribute to a strong team-culture and an atmosphere of cross-functional teamwork.
  • Operate with a strong product mindset.
  • Provide training and documentation of services and modules for internal consumption.
  • Closely partner with Finance and Security teams to incorporate respective requirements and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in AWS
  • 10+ years of experience in software development with Java, Python, or other languages
  • 5+ years of experience using CI/CD frameworks and implementing best practices.
  • Experience with Container technologies (GKE, EKS, ECS, Docker, Kubernetes) is desirable.
  • Experience with large-scale distributed systems Architectures.
  • Strong project management skills and have experience using project management tools like Jira.
  • Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate technical issues and solutions to peers and external vendors.
  • Strong active listening and consensus-building skills and passionate about learning.

Proficient in AWS:
  • Building automated infrastructure, especially modern data stack
  • Administering infrastructure and applications
  • Implementing and managing continuous delivery systems and services
  • Implementing and automating security controls, governance processes, and compliance validation
  • Defining and deploying monitoring, metrics, and logging systems on AWS

Practical understanding of:
  • Git, DevOps foundations, concepts like Service Ownership, SLAs and SLOs.
  • Public cloud, preferably AWS, including concepts like VPCs, network Peering and Routing.
  • Service Mesh, Control Plane Architectures, Software Defined Networking.
  • Infrastructure automation like Ansible, Terraform, or Cloud Formation.
  • CI/CD Technologies like Gitlab, Jenkins, Spinnaker.

The salary range for this position is $200,000- $260,000 which represents base pay only and does not include short-term or long-term incentive compensation. When determining base pay, as part of a final compensation package, we consider several factors such as location, experience, qualifications, and training.
