Responsibilities:
As a Full Stack Software Engineer at SPA, you will be assigned to support the US Space Force’s Space Systems Command, Operational Command and Control Acquisition Delta, known as Kobayashi Maru. Kobayashi Maru is responsible for continuously delivering impactful software for space operations. The program office’s mission includes the development and deployment of software for space defense, space domain awareness, and enabling data services.
- Contribute to the successful development and deployment of software capabilities using Agile, DevSecOps, User-Centered Design, Extreme Programming, and Test-Driven Development techniques;

Ship thin slices of the most value-added software capabilities in every 90-day Program Increment, which is broken down into weekly sprints;

Become a key member of an existing Product Team, which may include up to 7 other members representing a mix of Product Managers, Product Designers, and other Full Stack Software Engineers;

Implement user stories from the product backlog via daily Pair Programming with the other engineers on your team;

Participate and facilitate various Agile ceremonies, to include but not limited to daily stand up, collection of user feedback, sprint/iteration planning, duration planning, retrospectives, grooming of the product backlog, defining the product roadmap, meeting performance metrics, and reporting status of progress and blockers.
- Write well-documented, high-performance, reliable, and maintainable code;

Perform independent research to understand the users’ requirements as it relates to the space industry and its unique mission area;

Perform code reviews, debugging, testing, and troubleshooting throughout the software development lifecycle;

Design, develop, and deploy cloud native applications with a focus on availability, low latency, and scalability;

Interface the cyber, toolchain, test, data, and platform teams to ensure the deliver software aligns with the defined path to production;

Continuously refine your craft and stay up to date on the latest technologies.
This is a hybrid position. You may primarily work remotely but will be expected to work on-site with the Government customer at an off-Base location in El Segundo, CA at least 1 – 2 days per week due to the fast pace, quick-turn nature of the job and the persistent need to access secure networks. You should reside within comfortable driving distance to the El Segundo, CA area.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum 6 years of experience shipping production ready software

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or STEM from an accredited institution
- US Citizenship is required

Your resume must demonstrate experience:

Successfully delivering complex production software and applications for medium to large size businesses

Performing coding, debugging, testing, and troubleshooting at various stages in the software development lifecycle

Deep hands-on software development and programming technical expertise in a highly collaborative, Agile environment

Frontend Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Typescript, and React

Backend Experience with Java, Kotlin, Gradle, and Spring Boot
- Running software in Linux environments
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, Azure, and Hybrid Cloud Environment
Desired Qualifications:

Possession of a current Secret Clearance

Scrum Certified or equivalent Agile certification
