Job Description

We are looking for a SaaS Product Manager / Sr. Manager who will be responsible for the overall success of our Software as a Service (SaaS) product line. You will be responsible for managing the product's lifecycle from understanding market and client needs, managing the product roadmap, development, go to market and launch strategies for product releases and ongoing management of the SaaS product delivery, including customer service, marketing, sales, and support.

As Product Manager, you will be responsible for assisting with bringing our company's vision and strategy to life. You will need to understand and respond to customer needs and wants in addition to being able to convert those into product and/or project requirements. The current product, and your initial focus in this role, is a computer vision application leveraging machine learning to identify defects in underground pipework.

A key focus of the role will be on driving and supporting sales teams with the commercialization of a recently launched product and the achievement of growth targets. You will be passionate about commercialization and marketing of innovative solution, improving user workflows and processes, taking clients on the digital journey, and translating their needs into solutions.

This position will be flexible for remote/virtual work schedules and can be based from anywhere in the US or UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess the market potential, competitive landscape, differentiators, and go to market strategy to inform and drive the product roadmap (current product is focused on our Water business line).
  • Collaborate internally and externally with cross-functional groups to align and execute product plans.
  • Fully own the product roadmap from ideation to delivery.
  • Develop pricing analyses, sales strategies and forecasts, business cases, funding requests and ROI calculations.
  • Develop and localize messaging, solution offerings, and customer experiences in alignment with business line leaders, client account managers, and sales and marketing.
  • In partnership with the SaaS sales team, work across our global client network to identify and capture sales opportunities, including preparing and delivering sales pitches and product demonstrations.
  • Prepare scopes of work and manage development teams to complete software development and oversee acceptance testing.
  • Ensure new product features and fixes are delivered reliably, efficiently and to full specifications.
  • Create metrics and milestones around feature launches, measuring success post-launch and iterating.
  • Capture insight and feedback from customers and partners to prioritize product enhancements.

To be successful in this critical role, you will need to have significant relevant experience in successfully managing, growing, and commercializing software products, SaaS by preference, as well as in software development in industrial/technical organizations. You will have a sound technical understanding of product architecture to ensure alignment between desired outcomes and product capability.


Minimum Requirements:

For Manager:

  • BA/BS plus at least 8 years of relevant software product management experience, including cloud-based computing, PaaS/SaaS, AI/ML and/or engineering software and statistical methods, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

For Sr. Manager:

As well as:

  • Experience of developing product pricing and positioning strategies.
  • Experience commercializing SaaS offerings

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Engineering, IT, Data Science, and/or software development experience / degrees.
  • Post-graduate qualifications would be beneficial.
  • Familiarity with asset management approaches particularly within the water sector.
  • Familiarity with computer vision architectures, applications, and market potential.
  • Ability to articulate a product vision in the form of storytelling and visual presentations so you can share the experience with others in the organization, generate excitement and secure business support.
  • Proven ability to lead and influence within a geographically dispersed global organization to build consensus within and outside of the organization at the highest levels.
  • Excellent communications skills, enabling you to bridge the gap between development, design, the customer and the business.
  • Strong customer focus and empathy
  • Excellent planning, organizational, problem-solving, time management, and communication skills
  • Excellent documentation skills along with in-depth knowledge of product strategy
  • Experience creating detailed reports and presentations to senior executives and key stakeholders
  • Competency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • A track record of successfully making and keeping commitments
