Principal Software Engineer - Full Stack Consumer + Enterprise software

In this role, you will spend 80% of your time on development tasks, and 30% managing / team building.

As the Principal Software Engineer at dot.cards, your primary responsibility will be to design, test, and refine new products and features that will influence the future direction of dot. Your main objective will be to enhance and refine the dot.Profile centering on the significance of face-to-face connections. Ultimately, this will evolve into the development of a comprehensive enterprise solution.

Responsibilities

• Building consumer facing products and tools using Next.JS, GCP, and Vercel.
• Starting products from scratch, plan new features and help make crucial architectural decisions.
• Oversee a team of four full-stack engineers.
• Recruit, mentor, and manage the team to ensure timely feature releases.
• Set the groundwork for dot. engineering standards, tools, and procedures.
• Align development efforts with business objectives for timely feature delivery.
• Talking with customers and receiving feedback will be an essential part of the development process.

Basic Qualifications:

• A minimum of 8 years' professional experience in software development.
• A minimum 4 years' professional experience in full stack application development.
• Experience growing engineering teams within a startup context.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Ability to write clear and concise technical documentation.
• Capability to work in a dynamic, cross-functional setting both autonomously and as part of a team.
• Experience leading or managing a team of software engineers as a hands-on technical leader.
• Project management experience with a focus on delivering new features.
• Experience quantifying user behavior with Mixpanel or other data visualization tools.
• Advanced data analytics skills to support development work.
• Experience working with both consumer mobile products and enterprise dashboards.
