Description

As a Principal Architect at Credera, you will be responsible for the design, estimation, and execution of technology implementation projects for one or more clients. You will be responsible for recommending the appropriate technology approach, team structures, skill sets. You will be responsible for mentoring and developing team members and senior practice leadership. In addition, you will be expected to support practice and company development through leading research and development, training, and reusable software development accelerator development. As a member of the practice Management Team, you will help set the vision and strategic direction of the practice as well as owning or assisting with one or more go-to-market or corporate functions within the practice (e.g., employee engagement, training, accelerator development, etc.).

On a typical day, you might expect to work with clients to capture and synthesize requirements, research and propose the technical approach, and determine skills / capabilities and team requirements. You will be ultimately responsible for the quality technology delivery of technology implementation projects, by ensuring that Credera’s best practices and industry best practice standards are being appropriately applied. You will lead one or more teams of skilled technologists, providing the proper leadership, mentoring, and development. You will work with channel partners to support the relationship and help win new business. You will typically participate in one or more business development cycles.

WHO YOU ARE:
You are an experienced, hands-on software architect that has been in the industry or technology consulting for at least 8 years
You have a passion for open source technologies and the art of software engineering
You look for opportunities to mentor, lead and develop others
You have strong communication and interpersonal skills
You currently lead teams that develop complex, high-volume, mission critical enterprise solutions that are built from the ground up, using a variety of different open source components and are deployed in a high available environment
You are well versed in different software development methodologies and understand the benefits and challenges of each
The software you develop uses continuous integration/continuous delivery tools
You spend at least 40% of your time actively developing code

Cloud native architecture we use include traditional cloud solutions (AWS, Azure, ECP), Container Solutions (Docker/Kubernetes/Mesos/etc.), Serverless architecture, Lambda architecture
We use the following tool sets for DevOps/Automation: CI/CD Platforms (Jenkins, CircleCI, etc.), Infrastructure scripting (Ansible, Chef, Puppet), Cloud native API, Testing Automation (selenium, etc.), Data automation (Liquibase, etc.)
Other frameworks we use include Apache Spark, Apache Storm, Kafka, RabbitMQ
We typically work in an Agile methodology and own the project from start to finish
All our senior leaders have business development responsibilities and they accomplish this by growing existing accounts as well as establishing net new business through their own network

Your first week with us

Your first six months with us

You can expect to create amazing, custom software solutions that solve our clients' most challenging problems using a combination of industry standard and cutting-edge technologies. You will provide project architecture and technical leadership and contribute to our clients’ fundamental software strategies by matching business needs with the right technology.

You'll work on complex, high-volume software solutions that use open source frameworks and client-side technologies. A typical client engagement includes developing a rich UI in AngularJS or React and ed by a REST API powered by the Spring Framework along with a whole host of other tools and frameworks depending on specific needs.

You will lead a team of highly qualified and smart individuals to write efficient code, make code modifications, practice test-driven-development, and identify, troubleshoot and solve software defects. Our typical project length is about 6 months and typical team size is 6-8 engineers. We follow an agile methodology on all our projects.

For individuals hired to work in the Southern California area, Credera is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to the Southern California area and includes the range of factors considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; certifications; etc. We would not anticipate that the individual hired into this role would be near the top end of the compensation range, but that decision will be dependent on the facts associated with each specific individual’s relevant experience for the role. A reasonable estimate of the range is $224,000 - $331,000.
