About the Role: The Manager of Software Engineering, Charting Technology delivers the charting solutions for Investor's Business Daily. You will manage a team of software developers that build sound technical solutions for frontend and backend charting solutions and lead the effort for integrating charts into IBD products. The Manager of Software Engineering, Charting Technology reports to the Senior Director of Software Engineering for IBD. We are looking for a manager to join our charting framework development team. You will build and integrate IBD's Common Charting Framework into IBD Products. You will also position the software so that it can be used by other Dow Jones teams outside of IBD. You will work with our product and design teams, you will also make sure software development priorities are taken into account, while features and improvements are being planned. You Will: Guide individual contributors on your team. Design a reusable and customizable architecture that can integrate with other products, both web and mobile. Perform regular performance reviews of individual contributors. Work with the product team to influence the direction, quality, and schedule of development. Advocate for the evolving needs of the team. Suggest creative improvements in response to team feedback. Work with technical leadership to optimize cost/performance of charting solutions. Attend daily sprint standup meetings. Promote cooperation and commitment within a team to achieve common goals and deadlines. You Have: Senior level experience with Python, ReactJS and .NET(7yr+). Team leader experience in a technical organization. Knowledge micro-service solutions. Experience with AWS Cloud Technology. Experience working with UX/UI, design, and accessibility. Balance competing priorities and understand the benefits of delivering value to end-users. Excellent technical and troubleshooting skills. Experience with the financial market data (e.g., stock/options/crypto) is a plus. Experience with understanding, digesting, and analyzing complex systems integration. Minimum education required: Bachelor's Degree.
