Description
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Our software engineers create the next generation of technologies that will awe and inspire the experiences of millions of musicians and the thousands of associates that support them everyday. We're looking for fresh perspectives in leveraging modern technology to deliver cloud-native, secure, scalable, and consumerized software capabilities to our customers in a fast-paced environment. Our engineers lead from the front, demonstrate intellectual and emotional leadership, and organize/plan/communicate gracefully amongst their IT and business peers. A front end developer will take an idea and transform them into digital experiences that will delight our customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
- Create visually stunning, feature rich front-ends from simple - or well defined - objective/problem statements. Work with a product mindset.
- Rapidly develop visual prototypes, then work with backend teams to evolve those into high-volume, quality, production applications. Prototype, productionize, launch, repeat
- Develop work plans, communicate priorities, and manage deadlines/deliverables with a high degree of autonomy and a fierce sense of ownership
- Work with cross-functional teams, providing guidance on UI design and implementation
- Test code to ensure compatibility across various platforms and browsers
- Document work products and communicate issues as they arise
- Assist with troubleshooting production issues
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & SPECIAL ATTRIBUTES
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Design, Human Computer Interaction (HCI), or equivalent work/industry experience- 7 years coding experience with the most recent 5 years developing a strong proficiency with one or more of the following: Java, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, React.js, Redux, Next.js, CSS preprocessors such as Sass/LESS
- Experience debugging distributing systems
- Understanding of web development fundamentals including responsive design, performance optimization (including Core Web Vitals), and accessibility
- Experience with version control systems such as Git
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively with other team members
- Deadline oriented and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Preferred: Experience working with backend technologies such as Node.js
