Alarm Dispatcher and Office Assistant

We are seeking highly motivated and self-starting Alarm Dispatchers and Office Assistants to become an integral part of our team here at Orange County Public Safety. The selected individuals will assist in the crucial daily operations management area, and assist in directing officers to alarm responses while working. The ideal candidate will be a hard-working professional able to undertake a variety of office support tasks and work diligently under pressure. This person will be comfortable working with a high degree of attention to detail and discretion as well as incorporating new and effective ways to achieve better results.
Responsibilities
  • Receive alarm calls from client alarm monitoring companies in a timely manner
  • Collect all necessary information in order to relay responses needed from officers in the field as well as any other essential first responders if needed
  • Dispatch alarms to officers in the field via a two-way radio communication system in a timely manner
  • Collect trends of alarms for clients in a spreadsheet each week by site
  • Organize office and assist officers and management in ways that optimize procedures
  • Sort and distribute communications in a timely manner
  • Create and update records ensuring accuracy and validity of information
  • Monitor level of supplies and report shortages to management
  • Resolve office-related malfunctions and respond to requests or issues
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure compliance with established policies
  • Maintain trusting relationships with future clients, alarm monitoring companies, officers and other colleagues
  • Perform receptionist duties as needed
Skills
  • Proven experience as a back-office assistant, office assistant, dispatcher or in another relevant administrative role (Highly Desired)
  • Ability to learn Microsoft Office Suite
  • Working knowledge of office equipment
  • Thorough understanding of office management procedures
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Analytical abilities and aptitude in problem-solving
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $14.50 per hour
