Our La Crosse Campus includes a wide variety of production facilities, distribution center, truck maintenance facility, transportation/logistics, store construction, fuel trading, sales, and pretty much every support department you can imagine a 30,000 coworker strong organization would have. Kwik Trip Inc. is looking for an individual to join our team to support our retail, production, distribution, transportation, IT and other support center departments to assist them in developing, testing and implementing business continuity plans to ensure that we can continue to provide the best guest service and products to the communities that we serve.
<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">This position supports the Kwik Trip, Inc. organization as Business Continuity Manager and is responsible for the management, development and implementation of a Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) throughout the organization. Key Responsibilities
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Develops and implements Business Continuity awareness efforts to ensure current methodologies, best practices and staff roles and responsibilities are communicated to the business partners.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Contributes to the implementation of relevant policies and procedures facilitating an effective enterprise Business Continuity program aligned with the goals and targets of the company, the business units, and the owners. Recommends improvements to processes. Recommends more efficient/effective ways to mitigate overall risk within the company.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Collaborates with business units in the risk assessment of potential business impacts, definition of critical, time-sensitive processes and analyses of required components as defined within the Business Impact Analysis (BIA) standard. Proactively reviews overall information to ensure proactive measures have been implemented to ensure any risk is mitigated where possible. Researches and collects any/all applicable information and intelligence, as required.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Facilitates the development and on-going review and revision of guides and plans for business continuity within the Risk Management instrument in conjunction with the business units. May conduct risk/threat vulnerability studies and impact assessment and applies to immediate situations.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Provides support to affected business units during incidents, emergency and crisis situations. Communicates principal information to applicable parties in a timely and concise format, informs of most appropriate alternatives and acts on choices, as appropriate in order to reach an effective program outcome.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Represents the Business continuity function for new project initiatives.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Leads business continuity plan exercises, ensuring all technical components of the Business Continuity plans are successfully tested, at least annually, or whenever significant changes are made to the components of the plan.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Participates in the testing of technical recovery plans and disaster recovery solutions testing.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Performs as subject mater expert (SME) to the business and the team in the area of business continuity in order to grow business continuity competency across the organization.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Adheres to program protocol and performs services as dictated by the nature of the assignment. Performs advance work to evaluate overall program functions/activities making choices regarding necessary plan changes/alternatives, as necessary. Evaluates all venues on a pro-active basis and identifies where risk mitigation services are necessary and implements mitigation activity when applicable.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Work with senior management to coordinate business continuity governance activities
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Develop schedules for awareness / training for organizational and business units
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Develop and facilitate a strong multi-disciplinary team approach in engaging IT operations in developing and maintaining business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Support remote retail locations with 10% travel
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Establish and maintain public/private partnerships within Kwik Trip’s markets and coordinate assistance for local communities affected by an event.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Participates as a member of the <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">of Wisconsin Business Emergency Operations Center and Wisconsin’s Motor Fuel Contingency Plan committee.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Experience with business continuity standards (ISO 22301, NFPA 1600)
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Strong analytical, organizational, problem solving, and decision-making skills
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Strong verbal and written communications
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Experience in managing a complex business continuity program
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Experience with real-word incident response or business disruption events
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Experience with conducting or coordinating risk assessments on critical business processes or operating locations
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Familiar with National Incident Management System (NIMS) and Incident Command System (ICS)
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Experience with automated technology solutions to assist in the planning and updating of Business Impact Analysis (BIA’s) and Business Continuity Plans
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Proficient with Microsoft Office Professional Suite
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Experience in developing, refining and coordinating enterprise-wide policies and procedures
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Strong knowledge of local, state and federal emergency management organizations
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Working knowledge of business continuity operations, concepts, and methodologies

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">
Training and Experience Level
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Bachelors Degree in a related field preferred
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Minimum 5 years experience working in Business Continuity or related field
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Certified Business Continuity Planner (CBCP) or its equivalent preferred
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">The following courses/training preferred or able to be obtained within the first 18 months of employment

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">: This position works out of the corporate support center. Typical work schedule is Monday through Friday with on call responsibilities.
