ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• The Web Solutions team acts as an in-house application development team that services many verticals within Western Digital. The team provides stand-alone applications, as well as web applications and web services to support firmware development, continuous integration/continuous development, automated testing, reporting, and manufacturing.
• As a team member you will quickly become a subject-matter expert in one or more areas.
• You will work in small teams to develop new software solutions, maintain and enhance existing solutions, test and deploy them, and support our internal users.
• The ideal candidate is a full-stack web developer with a proven track record of working and leading projects from cradle to grave.
• The candidate can work well in a group or independently with minimal guidance. The candidate can also interface well, both verbally and written, with team members, leadership, and project stakeholders.

REQUIRED

• BS or higher in Computer Science or related technical discipline
• 5+ years in web development - frontend and backend
• Proficient with HTML, CSS, Javascript, SQL, and object oriented programming
• Experience gathering requirements, prototyping, developing, test, and releasing software that is robust and intuitive to use

PREFFERED:

• MS or higher in Computer Science or related technical discipline
• Experience in full stack development
• Server side knowledge: .NET or other frameworks
• Client side knowledge: Angular/JS, React, Vue.js, or other frameworks
• Proficient working with relational databases, like MS SQL Server, Oracle, and MySQL
• Familiar with Agile software development practices

SKILLS

• The successful candidate will possess a minimum of a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
• The candidate must have excellent communication skills, written and verbal
• Be an excellent team player and works well with multiple teams
• The candidate must have knowledge of one or more server-side languages such as PHP, Java, or C#/.NET
• The candidate must be comfortable working independently, as well as in a small team

Compensation & Benefits Details

• An employee’s pay position within the salary range may be based on several factors including but not limited to (1) relevant education; qualifications; certifications; and experience; (2) skills, ability, knowledge of the job; (3) performance, contribution and results; (4) geographic location; (5) shift; (6) internal and external equity; and (7) business and organizational needs.
• The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California, Colorado, New York or remote jobs that can be performed in California, Colorado and New York. This range may be modified in the future.
• You will be eligible to participate in Western Digital’s Short-Term Incentive (STI) Plan, which provides incentive awards based on Company and individual performance. Depending on your role and your performance, you may be eligible to participate in our annual Long-Term Incentive (LTI) program, which consists of restricted stock units (RSUs) or cash equivalents, pursuant to the terms of the LTI plan. Please note that not all roles are eligible to participate in the LTI program, and not all roles are eligible for equity under the LTI plan.
