Lift Technician - Central Transportation

We are looking for a Lift Technician with Central Transportation Department at St. Jude Medical Center.
Location: Fullerton, California
Work Schedule: On Call/ Per Diem
Shift: 8 Hour Day Shift
Job Summary:
Transports patients, equipment and products throughout the medical center in a safe and efficient manner. Safely performs complex patient lifts/transfers, including competent handling of multiple lines, ventilators, traction devices etc. in coordination with patient care team. Acts as first responder/assistant/runner for code situations; including code triage internal and external.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English.

  • Ability to accept responsibility and follow oral and written instructions.

  • Ability to work within a team; demonstrate good interpersonal communication, negotiation and facilitation skills and to obtain necessary information from appropriate resources.

  • Ability to maintain all aspects of patient, staff, visitor and hospital confidentiality.

  • Must have the ability to relate to patients, visitors and hospital staff in a positive manner.

  • Ability to satisfactorily perform job duties as defined in job description.

  • Willingness to learn new skills and utilized them appropriately.

  • Ability to organize effectively and set priorities.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology as appropriate to the responsibilities of the job.

  • Medical terminology.

Position Requirements:
  • Customer service experience, preferably in a health care setting

  • Successful completion of Transportation Orderly Training

  • Successful completion of Slip Mat Training

  • Successful completion of Customer Service Orientation

License / Certification:
  • Basic life support for the health care provider through the American Heart Association

Preferred Position Qualifications:
  • Previous work related experience as a Transportation Orderly
