The Senior Software
Engineer codes software applications based on
business requirements. The Senior Software
Engineer work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
This is a remote position however candidate must be able to accommodate working in Eastern or Central time zone.
Responsibilities
The Senior Software
Engineer standardizes the
quality assurance procedure for software. Oversees testing and debugging and develops fixes. Researches complaints and makes necessary adjustments and/or recommendations to resolve complex software related issues. Begins to influence department’s strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in
Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
5 or more years of experience designing, developing, and testing of software applications
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
Experience with Git and
Azure Devops
Experience with Object Oriented
design and development
Experience with high performance/high volume batch processing applications
Experience with back end/batch/console
software development
Experience with
Agile/SAFe development practices
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree
Experience with EDI (x12 HIPAA transactions)
Experience with Edifecs tools (xEngine, XEServer, EAM, SpecBuilder, TM)
Experience with Devops & CI/CD
Experience leading junior developers/engineers
Work-At-Home Requirements
All Humana associates approved for the Home or Hybrid Home/Office work styles are required to self-provide wireless, wired cable or DSL access to the internet at the connectivity speeds required by the company to successfully perform their job with the exception of associates who live or work from home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota. To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates must meet the following criteria:
At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is
recommended to support Humana applications, per
associate.
Wireless, Wired Cable or DSL connection is suggested.
Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if they provide an optimal connection for associates. The use of these methods must be approved by leadership.
Humana will not pay for or reimburse Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates for any portion of the cost of their self-provided internet service, with the exception of associates who live or work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota. Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the
business requirements for their position/job.
