Job Overview:
We require someone with at least 6-8 years of previous software engineering experience for this position. This position will be located in our Carlsbad office with a team consisting of local and remote employees. The successful candidate will be working in a collaborative development environment with a team of developers, QA, and technical writers.

  • Demonstrate code quality through proper unit and other testing

  • Keeps current on latest development products and assesses impact to current projects and future development

  • Make recommendations for software improvements within the context of planned feature and new product development

  • Create software designs for complex features and new products based on best practices

  • Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code

  • Develop quality item processing solutions utilizing Microsoft software development languages and tools. Development includes new features and new application development

  • Break down user stories into component tasks and provide estimates. Assist less experienced engineers with developing accurate estimates

  • Provide guidance to less experienced engineers with code and design reviews

  • Provide troubleshooting assistance to other departments, including afterhours assistance to customer support team on a rotating schedule

  • Assist Product Marketing with assessing technical feasibility for new products and features. Develop high-level estimates to assist in making product roadmap decisions

  • Provide support and maintenance on existing applications. Identify root cause for reported product defects and provide maintainable solutions

  • Assist less experienced engineers with issue resolutions as needed

  • Participate in code reviews and technical workshops

  • Conduct and/or assist in software demonstrations for internal and external audiences as required

  • Assist other team members with presentations

  • Four-year college degree or equivalent.
  • At least 6-8 years of previous Software Engineering experience

  • .NET, C#, EF (6+ years)

  • ASP.NET (6+ years)

  • Visual Studio (6+ years)

  • SQL Server (6+ years)

  • Good understanding of the software development lifecycle and multiple software development approaches

  • Organized and detail-oriented

  • Desire to be part of a highly productive, fast-paced team

  • Expected to demonstrate coded unit tests with sprint deliveries

  • Expected to collaborate and pair with all members of the team

  • Expected to follow established SDLC process

  • Advanced software troubleshooting and performance tuning abilities

  • Good understanding of agile software development principles and techniques

  • Previous experience in iterative software development

  • Object Oriented Programming (OOP) and software patterns

  • Experience implementing N-Tier/Service Oriented Architectures


  • Knowledge in HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular 6+ and other third-part JavaScript Libraries

  • Knowledge of credit union and/or banking industry a plus

  • Working knowledge of web application platforms

  • Experience working on a Scrum team

  • Experience designing and building platform independent mobile applications
