About American Lithium Energy (ALE)

American Lithium Energy headquartered in Great San Diego area, is a rapidly growing battery company with advanced batteries for military, aerospace, medical markets, and commercial markets.

Primary responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical answers to RFPs and interfacing with customers for the applications in military, aerospace, medical and commercial markets. He/she is expected to work with other team members to ensure successful project completion. Key responsibilities include:

  • Find and define opportunity fit & potential.
  • Provide pre-quote assessment of commercial and technical fit, proactively scope the technical and commercial solutions required to address customer requirements, assess customers’ met and unmet needs, and recommend solutions that optimize value for both the customer and ALE products.
  • Secure input from all necessary stakeholders within the customer’s company and other industry sources that have technical impact including Independent System Operators.
  • Secure from the customer the commitments needed to ensure a deal’s “technical close”
  • In coordination with the client’s technical representatives and responsible agencies, secure the technical information required to ensure not only the “technical close”, but also future solution deliverability, e.g. interconnection requirements
  • Translate customer’s RFP to the technical requirements document
  • Write the technical proposal in response to the RFP
  • Support customer presentations and clarification.
  • Lead tendering and bidding process

Specific Skills/Abilities

This position will need to manage all commercial and technical aspects of the sales process, and will work closely with the customers to secure new business. As the technical/business liaison between the customer and technical team, the candidate must bridge the gap between. In order to thrive in this role, the ideal candidate for this position should have rich battery knowledges and some working experiences in the battery industry.

  • Experience writing military, aerospace, and medical proposals
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex technical issues
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize time with minimal supervision
  • System level expertise in one or more lithium-ion technologies is required. Candidates that have experience in battery design and those with experience in energy storage will be preferred.
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast paced work environment
  • Knowledge of lithium-ion batteries, electrical systems, and control and communication architectures is preferred.
  • Excellent creative problem-solving skills as well as analytical and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal, written, and presentation.

Education/Experience

  • Degree in technical field required (Chemical, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering)
  • Master’s Degree with 2+ years experience or Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years’ experience, preferred
