About Sensible Care:
We are the leading outpatient mental healthcare provider committed to doing things differently. We pride ourselves on our unrivaled dedication to our Clients, Providers, and Team Members. Our focus is - and always will be - to provide the highest quality and easily accessible care to our clients.
We are expanding quickly but thoughtfully, and looking for exceptionally talented and skilled team members who share our passion and commitment to superior quality care. If this excites you, contact us today!
About the Role:
Sensible Care is now hiring a full-stack developer who will help us build and maintain substantial, high-quality applications. The ideal candidate will be a team player excited to join a group of like-minded, talented people who are inclusive, respectful, and thoughtful and who value fresh ideas and want to tackle hard problems. If improving and enhancing the experience and access of our highly sought-after Behavioral Health Services sounds exciting and rewarding, we would love to talk to you!
Our current tech stack is primarily PHP, Vue, and Postgres, deployed to Linode, though this may change as we expand. We hope you will be someone that can help us decide what we use next. While this post is for a mid-level developer, we are open to hiring at other levels for the right candidate.
Who You Are:

  • A Craftsperson: You enjoy and take pride in all aspects of your projects from conception to solution and get as much satisfaction from continually improving something as you do from starting something new.
  • Autonomous: You're able to take a set of project requirements — or even a well-described idea— and turn it into a working product without much (if any) assistance.
  • Curious: You mostly develop for the web but are interested in branching out to other areas (native application development? AI/ML? UI/UX? etc.) and value the opportunity to do so.
  • Fearless: You're not intimidated by challenges and welcome the opportunity to participate in all phases of software development as needed.
  • Team Player: You're comfortable working cross-functionally with different teams and departments (both technical and non-technical).

What You'll Do:
The key responsibility of this position is to develop end-to-end solutions for our clients and for internal use. You will be working with a small group of developers and project leaders and join the team that is tasked with building the systems that will allow our nationwide expansion. If you're on the fence or unsure if you'll meet the requirements, please apply if you can:

  • Write front-end and back-end code and have a solid grasp of coding best practices
  • Enhance and support our legacy code base (written in PHP)
  • Use a framework to create performant, reliable HTTP-based APIs (such as Laravel).
  • Wire APIs to a modern front-end framework (we use Vue.js)
  • Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests, and understand the importance of testing.
  • Deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot your systems in staging and production environments.

What You Need:

  • 3+ years of hands-on, production-level software development experience (preferably with some experience in our stack: PHP/Laravel, Vue.js)
  • Familiarity with git and understanding of the basics of CI/CD
  • Good verbal and written communications skills
  • A willingness to take initiative and ownership in a small-company environment
  • The ability to work remotely in an efficient manner
  • Healthcare or HealthTech industry experience is a plus, but not required

What We Offer:

  • Excellent compensation including competitive salary + bonus
  • 401(k) account with contribution matching
  • Gym membership stipend
  • 15 vacation days, 5 sick days, and paid holidays annually
  • Health, Dental, and Vision coverage for you and your family
